Stephen Peltonen
Biography
Stephen Peltonen was born on September 1972 in Hearst, Ontario
From a very young age Stephen displayed a passion and talent for drawing and painting. He never had the opportunity for any formal training in art, and one can say that Stephen's abilities are completely natural. He has lived most of his life in the Hearst/Mattice area of Northern Ontario, and his love for the great outdoors, specifically; paddling down the mighty Missinaibi (Canada's newest recognized Heritage River) provides much of the inspiration for his work. His combined Finnish and Ojibway/Cree heritage also gives him the ability to produce styles of work common to both cultures. His native art is generally a reproduction of a "vision" that has come to him.
